Progress Report

I once heard it said, that Gratitude is the open door to abundance. If that is true, i have an awful lot, and i have an awful lot to be thankful for. In that respect, i have decided to offer lifetime memberships to those founding few, those who have rolled up their sleeves, pulled up a brush and gotten stuck in. In the early stages of such an ambitious project I am relying heavily on my grafters and they aren’t letting me down! So thank you, to Ian and Mike, to Che and John and to Evi. I hope this list grows as the project gathers pace, after all… many hands make light work!

Friends and family have pulled together last week and we have running water and electricity and (Fingers crossed!) no major headaches so far! Our basement is almost clear and ready to paint, as is the ground floor…. first floor space is in a similar position so i think its time to go buy some paint………

So, our second room to write about is the former pool room of the Ballarat, soon to become my gallery.

Adjacent to the Bar area, this little alcove has access to the yard outside and is looking to lend itself well and rumour has it, we may even get a projector in here…. watch this space!
A huge feature of this room will be the open fireplace, the dog grate of which i recently found at Tyne Forge and it fits like a GLOVE i’m really pleased! We have had a real chimney sweep come and inspect and sweep it, Next job, however is a doooozy in that this beautiful brick fireplace has been glossed. Over, and over, and over again. Who in their right mind glosses over something as lovely as this?!

So, a labour of love has begun, and we’re peeling back the years one brick at a time….
